About me

I am passionate about nature, especially frogs,
and today I try to understand it using data science tools.

I am a biologist with a Master's degree in Zoology and a Ph.D. in Ecology & Conservation. I am interested in addressing broad questions in ecology while also considering the importance of local and regional processes. My research areas include natural history, community ecology, biogeography, and macroecology. To achieve this, I use data science tools to explore and answer biodiversity-related questions. Currently, I am conducting my postdoctoral research at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP).

Hard skills

During my career, I have developed a strong background in zoology, focusing on field research and natural history and taxonomy studies. Over time, I found that ecology provided the theory and methods needed to answer broader questions, allowing me to develop skills common to data scientists.

  • Programming skills in R and Python
  • Git and GitHub
  • Statistical analyzes
  • Phylogenetic comparative methods
  • Data handling and curation
  • Field biologist
